If i filed for AOS, can i do a CP like what you have described here?
I chose CP in my I140 but filed for AOS.
I guess there is a procedure for switching from AOS to CP, but just wanted to know what you got to say.

Our files assinged to Adjudicating officer on Nov 30th. (PD is current ) Nothing happend sofar.
Is it time to worry ? I seen in this forum cases processed within two weeks after assinging. Any input will be appriciated.

Applying PERM & H1 are diffrent. GC process is future employment so Any employer can sponser your PERM without joining him (But you have to join that employer if GC-485 get approved by him).
In My case, my earlier employer filed GC in 2004 but I140 got denied so I restarted whole GC process again.

How far are we from hearing that H1/L1 is banned for Govt/Pvt projects?

Texas allows instate tuition waivers for H1 and H4 visa holders provided they are residents of texas for 1 year. In other words, any H1/H4 holder residing in TX for more than a year only pays instate tuition.

I disagree. I think that we will see an another attempt at CIR bill. Dems will want to capitalize on their surge among the hispanic bloc; see the comments by Nancy Palosi [sp?]. An attempt will be made to cast it as an aid for economy: to bring people out of shadows so that they can buy houses etc.
But then this is just my opinion which, like yours, is just an opinion. Heck even my 5 year old these days does not seem to hold my opinion in any regard :)

Filed EAD renewal at TSC (my 485, however, is pending at NSC) on Aug 6. RD Aug 7. No LUDs since the notice was issued.
EAD CPO email on 9/23 :)
Wife's EAD (applied together) still pending. No LUDs either.

The correct answer would be differed on the basis of your current status.
Are you currently H1 holder or H4 holder?
what H1 and H4 has to do? Once you start using EAD..your current status has no impact. On EAD, you can do multiple jobs but similiar description.

After going through all this , now we are hearing discussions that it is safe to maintain a H1B, (just) in case the 485 gets denied.

So after going through the medical and knowing that i will have a positive PPD (due to my history of positive PPD), and having clear X Ray results - the civil surgeon said you need to treatment for TB. I was surprised to hear it and as I had read from the CDC website and read the instructions - I saw the Treatment is Recommended - NOT Required and it also mentioned that the doctor should sign Part 5 and the applicant is clear for USCIS purposes and explain to the applicant the implications and recommend going for Evaluation to the health department.
I showed the points to the doctor but he did NOT want to sign it without any entry in the part 3 and part 4 - which from what i read is for those that are going to REQUIRE treatment.

Having been in these forums for years now...I know that IV cannot do much about retrogression until president decides to push for CIR. That may be at least 1 year away, if not more. Recapture of visa numbers is also next to impossible in this economy.
But somethings that may be worth trying in the interim are -
1. More flexibility in changing jobs under AC21, to allow career progression. This may not require a legislative fix.
2. Longer duration AP.
3. Fee reduction for 2nd & subsequent renewal of EADs and APs.
4. An apology from USCIS for the delay!!

@sanju_dba - Sorry to disappoint you. We did think about making a documentary, but in the end we all figured that a lot more people might be interested in a narrative feature film. Perhaps we are wrong, but it was just a decision that our team collectively made.
@waitingnwaiting - Thanks for your honest feedback. You are right about a lot of things. All I can say is, I've been in this country for over 10 years still waiting for a green card like a lot of people. I just wanted to do something to make more people aware of the issues. I'm passionate about film making so I figured way I can do it is to make a film about stories based on my personal experience. Now, I don't know how the audience will perceive the film or if it will change their mind. But one thing's for sure, we all have given our best to this film and attempted to tell stories that have affected our lives.
