Target is heading uptown to Harlem. The launch of the new East Harlem store has come with much fanfare from exclusive designer collections from Stephen Burrows, Isabel and Ruben Toledo (Michelle Obama favorite) and Marcus Samuelsson to a star-studded VIP fete to celebrate the opening.
The latter took place yesterday evening with celebrities like Kelly Rowland, Selita Ebanks, Tyson Beckford, designer Tracy Reese and style maven (and Glamazon favorite) Bevy Smith. Oh and did I mention the official Target dog was there?
Check out the pics:
I love Selita's draped moment. She's gorg!
Tyson Beckford and his straw hat were there.
Tracee Ellis Ross was the picture of summer chic in a green, floral maxidress.
Tracy Reese glowed in one of her own designs.
Uncle Russ came through to support.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Target dog made an appearance on the red carpet. Historic, really.
The party was ultra-glamorous but I'm more excited about the fashion. The designers, Isabel and Ruben Tuledo, Stephen Burrows and Marcus Samuelsson dreamed up vibrant, colorful pieces that capture the spirit of Harlem. What's your verdict on their looks?
Check out some of Stephen Burrows' pieces and Isabel Toledo's swimwear below:
The fab pieces are available at East Harlem Target, 517 East 117 Street, (212) 835-0860 starting July 25th and at other select stores and on www.target.com in limited quantities starting August 1st.
