He may not be as tall (he certainly doesn't have the bod) but he's the newest Angel on the block and set to cash in big bucks on his latest collabo with Victoria's Secret beauty. I'm talking about none other than fashion designer (and Project Runway winner) Christian Siriano! (I wonder if Heidi had anything to do with this hook up? Hmmmm.....)I recently attended the launch event and must say that it was pretty fab! Upon arrival, we (being us beauty editors) received makeovers from various makeup artists with products from the newly revamped VS Beauty line (more on that in a bit). Then, we were given one of those signature pink VS bags and swag (always the best!). After sipping wine and mingling with each other, we finally took our seats (me on the front row, of course!) for the fashion show. I sat beside my good friend Heather Muir (Seventeen magazine..that's her pictured above next to me with the dark hair) and Kari Molvar (Cosmopolitan magazine..she's the cute blonde next to Adriana). And then, to my surprise, out walks VS Angel Adriana Lima (my fave!) Less than a foot away from me and breathing the same air as I...heaven! Each model (there were 8 total) showcased a different dress from Siriano's Fall 2009 collection as well as a new makeup look inspired by the trends and created with products from Siriano's new VS makeup line.Afterwards, Siriano himself took the stage and told us all how excited he was to do this collabo with VS and even admitted that he worked a makeup counter at Bloomingdale's in Manhattan before his Project Runway days. ("Don't judge," he said. I was cracking up as I remembered my not so fun days working in the city's retail hell as well!) Drawing inspiration from Egypt ("the warmth of the desert, the blue of the Nile and the juxtaposition of soft fabrics and strong shapes," he says), this limited edition collection is a reflection of the same hues seen in his Fall 2009 collection. And we are off! We actually had to go back to work for one week after the wedding and then we left for our honeymoon. First stop Curacao. We flew from TX to Atlanta, and then to Aruba, where we caught- and I am NOT kidding here- a propeller plane to Curacao. I was very nervous about this flight. I mean- can these little planes land in water? No seat assignments. No flight attendants. No carry ons! (unless it was your purse- since there was no storage in the cabin, they stored the carry ons underneath the plane) Crazy! Luckily enough, the flight was so short, by the time we took off, filled out the customs documentation, it was already time to land. I have to say- it was a good flight- much better than I expected.

When we arrived in Curacao, we grabbed a cold beer and hopped in a taxi headed for the hotel. We decided to do an all inclusive package on this leg of the trip- so we were excited to able to eat, drink, and be lazy all around the resort as we wanted to.

BTW- I not only had a "Just Married" tank on, but we had mentioned to the flight attendant that we were on our honeymoon- NO- no upgrades on that one. So when we checked into our hotel, we mentioned it again- again- NO- special treatment for us.

I only tell this because we met another couple, who were tons of fun! But they had told the hotel they were on their honeymoon and not only was their room upgraded but when they got to their room there was roses and champagne in there! (and of course, they were not on their honeymoon) hmmm... no biggie :)

Anyhow- about this couple- E & L, they were from Brazil and like I said, a lot of fun. They immediately asked all of the general Texas questions and referred to C as "Cowboy" for the rest of the trip- haha!

Our favorite Curacao outing was going to Klein Curacao. It was a 2 hour catamaran ride out to a deserted island that was truly paradise. It was the most beautiful place that we have ever been. No electricity, no inhabitants, just some huts for shade, an old abandoned light house, white beach, teal blue water, and sea turtles to snorkel with. PARADISE!

WOW! What a day. It was great. Of course, we got a little off of our timeline, that my MOH made (who always runs late) - but then believe it or not- we were both running late. Or as she puts it "actually on time, since she lied on the timeline" But then we were off to make up, and others were doing hair- and then we all switched. Worked great! The boys on the other hand.... out drinking beer, running late, hadn't delivered important things to the venue- I tell you- I thought I was going to loose it! All this planning and time lining I had spent time on putting together- just thrown out the window. Thankfully everything came together and in true wedding chaos style- we walked down the aisle, said our "I do's" and the party started!



We had a blast and it's true what they say- the time flies by. All of my girls and I had a great time trying to synchronize our celebration jumps out on the beach, the Hubs was doing some serious breaking it down on the dance floor, we did the Grand March (thanks to Grand March Master "A"), garters and bouquets were tossed and fought over- ha ha! Before you know it, it was last dance, sparklers were lit and we were heading to our get-a-way car. We couldn't have asked for a better day, better friends and family.

As much as I like to plan how everything goes... that just doesn't always happen. I am a giddy newlywed that married a wonderful man and 2 wonderful kids! So this blog will tell the stories of our wacky everyday life of our family of 4 (and our 2 dogs too!) and I am sure that some of our friends will make their way in here too.
